Case study

The problem

Every messaging channel has its own API, rules and quirks. A business that wants to reach customers on WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger and SMS has to build and maintain four separate integrations. Dotomni set out to replace them with one.

What we built

One API that sits in front of the channels. A business connects to Dotomni once, and each message goes out on whichever channel the customer uses. Companies could build customer support, notifications or both on top of it.

What changed

We demoed it to a number of companies, and a transport company ran a trial.

Technical notes

Node.js and Express API with one interface for sending and receiving messages, and an adapter for each channel. The same idea as OpenRouter, which routes requests across AI model providers, applied to messaging channels.

My role

Co-founder and CTO, alongside a business co-founder. Designed the API and built the platform and its channel integrations.
